Microgreen Herbs

5 Ways to Use Microgreen Herbs and Vegetables

Microgreen vegetables and herbs are incredibly nutritious and flavorful. You can get creative, adding them to your diet in just about any way you can imagine. The following are five ideas to help get your creativity flowing.

Salads

You can get the full nutritious benefits from your microgreen vegetables when you eat them raw, which can easily be done with salad. Mix your microgreens in with your other favorites for a powerhouse lunch.

Sandwiches

Many people also enjoy using microgreens on wraps and sandwiches. Radish shoots are a favorite, especially mixed into a hummus or similar wrap. And many microgreen herbs make a great sandwich garnish. However, if you’re on the go or at the office, a wrap might be a less messy option.

Cooked Dishes

Raw microgreen herbs and vegetables are more nutritious, but you can still get a lot of good out of them when cooked. Consider adding them to your stir-fry dishes or pasta sauce. They’ll add some flavor to your favorite dinners.

Baked Goods

You can get creative with baked goods, too. If you eat Quiché, you can substitute the spinach for microgreens. You might also garnish pies with microgreen herbs.

Smoothies and Juices

Of course, you can always throw your favorite microgreen herbs and vegetables into your blender or juicer for a nutrient-dense breakfast or post-workout drink.

Many people do one part juice to three parts water. However, you’ll want to experiment with the flavor and consistency to find the perfect match for you.
